FRANCESCA CALIGARIS

Lyric soprano and co-founder of La Filharmonie cultural association.

At the beginning of her career she dedicated to the study of Opera repertoire, debuting the following roles: Puccini’s Mimì in “Bohème”, Kate Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly, Mozart’s Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte”, Susanna in “Le nozze di Figaro” and Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni” , Verdi’s Alice in “Falstaff” and Flora/Annina in “La Traviata” and the role of Lola in Pietro Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana”, singing under the conduction of: Piero Bellugi and Alvise Casellati (Florence Symphonietta orchestra), Bernahrdt Mehler and Axel Quast (Oberhausen Orchestra), Claudio Desderi (Orchestra Filarmonica Veneta), Paolo Ponziano Ciardi (Orchestra del Conservatorio L. Cherubini), under the direction of Marisa Fabbri, Andrea Cigni, Nicoletta Perondi, Matelda Cappelletti and Rossana Sieni.
Francesca dedicated herself also to the study of the ancient music repertoire singing in several concerts and debuted Monteverdi’s roles of Giunone in “Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria” and una ingrata in “Il ballo delle ingrate”, under the conduction of Maestro Alfonso Fedi and recorded unpublished compositions of M° Andre Mati, under the “Tactus” record label.
But it is in the chamber music that Francesca finds a special match with her music sensitivity, singing in national and international environment (Italy, Japan, Austria e Germany), together with small ensembles or in a duo with a pianist.
It is with pianist Ilaria Baldaccini, that the Soprano Francesca Caligaris is ambassador of Italian and European chamber music culture around the world, having a good success during a chamber music tour in Japan, organized by the Italian Culture Institute (IIC) in Tokyo and singing at the Italian Culture Institute (IIC) in Wien.
She was protagonist of several music Festival among which the chamber music Intersezioni Festival in Florence and Estate Fiorentina Festival.
From year 2011, every two years, she is the special guest at the Christmas concerts in theatres Marientor and Mercatorhalle in Duisburg under the conduction of Maestro Axel Quast (Oberhausen Orchestra – Germany).
Her early music education is as pupil of Maria Casula at the Conservatorio Giacomo Puccini, achieving a firs degree as opera singer.
Her second degree is as pupil of M° Leonardo De Lisi at the Conservatorio Cherubini of Firenze where she achieves a degree in chamber music with full marks and honor. Before the graduation Francesca had the chance to study Lieder and German language at the Hochschule für Tanz und Musik Köln in Germania, under the guide of Prof. Susanne Kelling.
From year 2007 the soprano Francesca Caligaris is singing teacher in private schools in Florence and from year 2016 she is substitute vocal coach at Liceo Musicale Dante di Firenze (music high school).
